Okay this is basiclly a plug for a site im working for but i guessing the kind of people who read this part of the forum will be interested.

http://www.consumedmag.org - has been set up to in its own words to point "an accusatory finger at consumer culture before poking it in the eye." At the moment only the blog has been launched but the full site is well on the way. Check out the blog and make ur comments and views known!

Seems like a pretty good site, although I've only read the well being article.

I do think people need to start thinking about the consequences on the environment etc (something for a different post) but a lot of people either don't know how or "cant be bothered" to do something about it.
