Wtf Is Fashioncore???!!!!

Iv herd this time been used sooooooo much for bands like Eighteen Visions and Lostprophets but what the fuck is it all about?! Most the ppl on myspace who seem to think their fashioncore just look like a bunch of skinny fuks in womens jeans, straight edge scene posers with stupid hair and horribly large flesh tunnels. Can someone explain?

Just one of those daft terms made up for labelling bands that they think may be hard to fit into another category, probably from someone who has little or no social skills. I heard about this a while back, and a lot of my mates think it's to do with bands of any music style who seem to be more about how they look, rather than about their music. More concerned with how others perceive them, which is an insult, really. All they're really doing is showing their lack of intelligence and provoking a reaction, albeit a negative one. Makes me wonder what these fools are going to think of next. I like who I like for my own reasons, and don't really care what anyone else thinks. That's how it should be.

yeh thers plenty of posing but their music shows that they are serious about making music and not jus being image based in success. Prophets pose alot yet ther music is original and different and has very many flaws. Old skool 80's bands used to pose alot (Motley Crue for eg) yet they werent more interested in style than music. If slash was more interested int he way he looked than how gud his playing was he wouldnt be so fucking famous...yet the whole GnR posed alot.

I wouldnt say teh prophets are particularly original just good at wot they do! Im not saying posing is a bad thing! GnR and Prophets are doing it with a sense of irony however and i just get the feeling that new bands such as 18v are taking it a bit to seriously!

i always thought Fashioncore was a pisstake of the "Scene" never thought it would be an actual genre.

hahahaha oh well happy days and another genre to add to the pile in the record shop next to the Emo and Hardcore section in the Metal section in the rock and pop section.
