Mehr über die Lostprophets erfährt man im Interview, welches Uli Rauschenberger im Dezember in Köln mit Ian und Jamie geführt hat:
Ian Watkins erklärt die Bedeutung der neuen Platte:
No, we didn`t really think of it like that. After the first album that was so rushed that was just like a demo to us. Pretty much 6 months after that we started to campaign to do a new record to our management and our label. And 3 years later they finally said: Yeah, okay. You can do it now. We have been waiting a long time to do it. To us this is the first real record. The other one was just a laugh.
Ian Watkins und Jamie Oliver erklären, warum sie eine fette Albumproduktion bevorzugen:
I think the big album is more us definitely. I mean, we meant to do it on the first one but after 7 days God put down his book and went: Right, you are finished. That is as good as you are going to get. And we are like: Ohhh! I love doing big albums because you have the time. Because everything sounds so grand and epic. You just end up loving everything. God engineered our first one, I didn`t tell you that at the time.
Ian Watkins und Jamie Oliver erklären, wie sie persönlich mit Kritik umgehen:
If your music is generally quite good, they will find some other thing to pick on. Whether it is your image, your looks, stuff you say…if people want to bring you down, they will do their best to bring you down. You just got to rise above it. And outlast it because eventually if you outlast it, then you become an entity on your own and people get bored of picking stuff and just except your music and your creativity.

I didn`t have any teen-age angst. I really didn`t. I was a pretty content teen-ager. I had a laugh. We all grew-up together, it was wicked. The idea behind the album is more sort of trying to be inspirational. We are trying to encourage people to say like: You got your dreams, don`t let them go. Don`t just let them fade away and get content and complacent with your life. You can still go for them. To the young kids we go: We had dreams, we did this, we followed our goals and ambitions and look at us. It is all obtainable if you put your mind to it. And also there is a little bit in there of…you doubted us but fucking look at us now. We got some songs in there, we are a little bit like: Let`s stick our 2 fingers up to some of the media that thought we were one-track ponies.
Ian Watkins erklärt die Arbeitseinstellung und die Mentalität der Lostprophets:
We always dreamed of being in a band. We were in a small town in the middle of nowhere. Because we had a good work ethic, we just worked our asses off, we achieved it. I think so many people think like that. Think: These are just dreams. I think about this when I am lying in bed or day-dream about it. It is like: You can actually do it! There are no rules in life. Nobody is telling you: You have to do this 9 to 5 job or you have to do this. If you really want something, you can strive for something. It may be hard work and you may not get there but at least you are trying and you don`t know until you try.
Ian Watkins und Jamie Oliver erklären, warum die Lostprophets wahrscheinlich bodenständig bleiben werden:
We may become super rich millionaire rockstars and then completely lose touch with reality but then again you might not. At the moment we got people around us that wouldn`t allow us to lose touch with reality. We get knocked down on a few pegs if we ever get ahead of ourselves. We still all live in the same place back home. We have no money but we actually travel in the world and are having experiences that are just amazing. And that is through hard work. It was a hard beginning.
Ian Watkins erklärt, wie er mit seinen Problemen umgeht:
Yeah, I just don`t get it. It is like: Were all of you that fucked-up?! Didn`t anybody have a normal childhood? It is a bit like wacky. It is a bit weird but…we are just about positivity. No matter what happens to you, just fucking overcome it. Don`t dwell on it and be like: Ohhhh…Shit happens to a lot of people. You can either dwell on it and just close in on yourself or you just can rise above it and deal with it and go on with making your life good.
Jamie Oliver erzählt von den Anfängen der Band:
We started out there wasn`t any, we had no interest really in labels and stuff like that. We wanted to play shows. Nobody knew who the fuck we were, so we recorded a really quick album, so that we could hire our own mini-bus the next day. Sell something out of the back of the van and be able to afford the mini-bus the next day to play. It was genuine, it was honest. We were driven but we weren`t blinded by the need for money and fame and labels and stuff like that. We still have an honest desire to do music and play.
Ian Watkins und Jamie Oliver erklären, dass jedes Mitglied der Lostprophets für ein Magazincover geeignet wäre:
I look like a fucking tit in magazines anyways, so I don`t think people are going to buy it. Kerrang have a picture of me going: Ahhh! We got Lee and Mike and Mike and Stuart. We are equally as good-looking as Ian anyways. It is not a problem with them just picking him out. And Jamie.
Jamie Oliver erklärt, warum ihm L.A. so gut gefallen hat:
I liked it over there, because people would just leave you be. You could dress how you wanted and you could look exactly how you wanted and nobody would say a word. Maybe they thought you were carrying a gun but that worked to my advantage. It was crazy because I would do stupid stuff. Grew my hair long, wear make-up and all that kind of stuff. Got off the plane in Heathrow, the minute I stepped off the plane, all I heard was: Oh my God, look at his fucking hat! And I was like: Ohhh. Six months in L.A. nobody said a word to me. I get back over to that ironical, horrible place and just thought: That exactly sums it up for me. Fucking wankers!!
